Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your showroom? How can I check out your vehicles?
We're currently in the process of building our showroom. In the meantime, we allow visits to our Sta. Rosa City, Laguna plant (strictly by appoinment). You can schedule a meeting via email to firstname.lastname@example.org and our sales officers will contact you for confirmation.
Will I be able to register and insure the unit for use in public roads?
Yes, you can register your electric vehicle with the Land Transportation Office. In addition, you can also apply for insurance once you receive your OR/CR from LTO. ToJo Motors can process your LTO registration with added cost to your purchase.
How much will it cost to charge an EV?
Based on our unit testing with MERALCO PowerLab, our average consumption of 2.5 to 4 hours amount to a range of P60 - P80 only, depending on the electric vehicle model.
Is the electric vehicle economical to use? (Low operating cost)
On the average, the cost to travel 1 kilometer is P1.50, compared to P7 per kilometer for an average gasoline engine vehicle.
How economical is an electric vehicle compared to a gasoline vehicle as regards maintenance? (Low maintenance cost)
Electric vehicles generally have lower (if not zero) maintenance costs. An electric vehicle motor will generally require one yearly check up to top off brake fluids and lubricate bearings, compared to internal combustion engine which has hundreds of moving parts that require oil, coolant and filter changes every 3,000 to 5,000 kilometers.
What if my e-vehicle will not run even if batteries are fully charge?
Technical service will be made available 7 days a week and e-vehicle carries a 1 year warranty against manufacturing and design defects. If this incident happens to you, kindly contact us immediately so we can send a servicing team to your location for assessment and repairs (as needed).
Are parts available?
Yes, parts for your unit are in stock in our main plant. Contact us directly or your nearest service center to inquire about parts, installation, or additional repairs.
Do I need to subject my unit to preventive maintenance?
Yes. Although electric vehicles require less maintenance, they still need to be properly checked for possible corrosion and durability test. Kindly check with us regarding your PM schedule.
How many hours is charging time?
This depends on the state of charge (when the battery is not fully drained) it will roughly take around 2.5 to 4 hours to fully charge the battery (for Lithium-type batteries). If you prefer to use lead acid-type batteries, average charging time is 6 to 8 hours.
How far will the electric vehicle travel when fully charged?
Our units are configured to optimize its range based on the batteries installed. Depending on terrain, 48V reaches 25KM; 60V(e-trikes) and 72V(4-wheels) reaches up to 45KM; and 96V reaches up to 60KM.
How long will the batteries last before replacement?
Lithium Ion Batteries usually last for 2,000 cycles. This means if you charge/discharge everyday (1 cycle), batteries will last for 2,000 days or roughly equivalent to 5 years. Replacement also relies on the care duly given by the drivers for proper handling of the unit and regulated charging procedures.
How will I charge my e-vehicle?
Depending if your vehicle has on-board charger, you can charge your e-vehicle by plugging into any 220 volts socket.
What is the maximum speed of an EV?
Our electric vehicles are classified as LSV or low speed vehicles. We configure our units to a certain speed to regulate power draw. For e-trikes, normal operating speed is 25 ~ 40KPH, while for 4-wheels, normal speed range is from 30 ~ 60KPH.
Is it safe to use electric vehicles in the rain?
Yes, it is safe to use in the rain. However, under flooded road conditions, the electric vehicle must not be used and should be parked on elevated ground free from floods. ToJo Motors secure its unit components safe from being drenched, but not advised to be operated during heavy rains or storms with flood.
